On August 26th, the first graduates of the academy’s new Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Experience (P.A.C.E.) program celebrated successfully completing the 10-week program and received a certificate, a toolbox with twelve different hand tools, and a $100 gift card courtesy of the Lowe’s Foundation. Several also received job offers and were ready to start the next phase of their careers. We are proud of the hard work the participants put in, learning construction essentials and completing on-the-job training with our employer partners. A big thanks to Catalyst Construction Company, Müller Surfaces, Adams Electric, and SPC Mechanical, as well as our funding partners, Lowe’s Foundation and Mecklenburg County, for making the first round a success!
